HL2 or UT2k4 - both good games to show off what the hardware could do.

Edit: Actually UT2k4 is very CPU bound.

Bah, i know that 😛

But it provides so much better mulitplayer 🙂

Actually, HL2 is pretty CPU bound also 😉

Sweet..... Thanks again to all those who offered their help, even those who offered after I bought and installed the card 😛....

I did get the Leadtek card.

Oh, and one more dummy question..... what is AA/AF.

AA is antialiasing - smooths out the jagged edges you see like on rooftops.
AF is Anisotropic Filtering - makes textures look more lifelike (sorry, I don't know any better way to explain it), like on the ground and water and stuff.

So, NO AA/AF with this card??? Is that because the card doesn't need to settings to make everything smooth and realistic? (for better lack of words to ask what I'm actually thinking)?

peace

It depends. If you run lower resolutions you can turn that stuff on probably up to 2xAA, 8xAF. But if you run something like 1600x1200, you probably won't be able to run any AA/AF. You'll just have to test it all out for yourself to see what you like best.

You don't really need AA/AF at such high res. And it's a big performance hit on any rig.
