Your opinion please.

It's got significantly faster clockspeeds. If you are a gamer (I am) then the speed is probably worth the price. I'd go for the GT myself.
 
Oh hey, to put it into perspective:

The 6600GT is quite a bit faster than the Radeon 9800 Pro which is quite a bit faster than the 9600XT. From the gaming perspective this is a no brainer. 🙂
 
Either go with Megatomic's suggestion if that's your price range, or get the 6600GT if you can afford the little bit extra as it's much faster than a stock 6600.

The one you linked to though is PCI-E which i don't think is what you want, you need AGP 8X version like this one:

I went with the 6600GT.... ordered it from Newegg on Tuesday, got it and installed it today!
Thanks for the input. I'm glad I went with the GT. Now, what game is a must have to play with this card??? 🙂

Edit: Actually UT2k4 is very CPU bound.

You want either a 6600 or a 6600gt. period. It's worth the slight amount of extra money for far better performance, plus shader model 3.0

it's the smart decision. oh, and get a leadtek. trust me, if you want quality.

Damn good. You could pass 1600x1200 no AA/AF with max quality with 40-50 AVG 60 Peek FPS. 1280x1024 could get you a steady 60 even though most won't recommend running a crt at that res, but I havent notice any thing problematic. Which is why I have a CRT and not a LCD which can run outside it's native res and aspect ratio.
