Your opinion on this

Well title says it all.
I have the 2x512 Mushkin xp3500 and I was wondring if I should go with cheapo 2x1GB to pair it with the system of my sig? Keep in mind that I'm o/cing and ram right now is approximately @230 2-2-2-5(cpu @2700).

I want overall smoother performance in windows mostly and in some utilities/applications and in gaming so what is your opinion?
Thanks

* I don't wanna go with expensive 2x1gb kit because AM2 is around the corner and I'm planning to spend the big bucks there for quality ddr2.

This depends on what games you play but you can get a decent set of overclocking memory of 2x1GB for only around $200 try these 2x1GB of Gskill HZ w/ A64 the memory isn't as important as you can just use a divider and not hurt performance that much and what I just linked is pretty good stuff 🙂

Thanks Arcanedeath I have Gskill in great respect for years, but you know I have to ask for personal experiences since 1gb kits are in a different "battlefield" from 512mb kits.

The fact is that I won't rush for AM2 socket, since there's no particular reason to do it quickly. So I need 2gb of some price/perf ram.

Anyone else?

It won't do a thing for windows performance if you increase your RAM. It might improve your gaming, but it does depend on which games you play.

BF2 yes
Wow yes
