do you really enjoy the attention THAT much for posting stupid comments?

as for moi, i'd say whoever is the equivalent of Greenspan in China, because the government has so much more control of their population and flow of money than the United States.

There are many different types of power. You can't point to one guy and say: "He is the most powerful man in the world!" The president of the U.S. George Bush has the strongest military power in the world but I would say that Alan Greenspan has the strongest financial power in the world. As far as the most intellectual power in the world, I would have to say Andrew Wiles. He was the guy who solved Fermat's Last Theorem. More info on that here.

Here is a snippet:

Andrew Wiles devoted much of his entire career to proving Fermat's Last Theorem, the world's most famous mathematical problem. In 1993, he made front-page headlines when he announced a proof of the problem, but this was not the end of the story; an error in his calculation jeopardized his life's work. Andrew Wiles spoke to NOVA and described how he came to terms with the mistake, and eventually went on to achieve his life's ambition.

He finally fixed the error and submitted a proof for the theorem that is correct.

When you see someone following Alan Greenspan with the "nuclear football," then you can say he's the most powerful man in America. Until then, it is and will remain the President.

I think Bill Gates could do more damage to the world if he wanted to...you gotta wonder if every copy of Winblows has a back door in the code where BG could either: Crash every pc hooked to the net, or Hold everyone's data hostage.

Theres a definate diffrence between people who have power in the government and then power in general. Anyone who has enough money can get things done. Im sure if bill gates offered some iraqie squad 5 billion to whack bush he could get it done.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I'll say the Pope.

Maybe not every Pope in the past but John Paul II is very influential and leaders all over the world listen to what he has to say no matter what their religious background is. From personally visiting Castro, to sending people with his message to Saddam, I think when it comes to pure people power no one stands close.

I think his voice only effects though who follow him/his religion...I dont have anything to do with the pope so i can say he really has no effect what so ever on me.

Is it true that the sign of the devil is 666? Is it also true that the pope wears that number on his crown?

If greenspan was the most powerful in the world, he would have had the previous budget surplus go to paying down the debt and not returning it to taxpayers. He conceded tho. 🙂

I think the most powerful man has to be the US pres., not always in a good way, but thats the way it is.

We have a winner, thanks for playing oldsmoboat.

I think 666 is reserved for people who think war and violence are the only answer, not people interested in peace.

Anywho, chiwawa626, I don't agree with what you said since as we speak the pope's envoy is in Iraq with a message that is to be directly handed to Saddam from the pope himself. Even though he is Muslim, Saddam is willing to listen to what the pope has to say. I don't think the president will be doing this anytime soon.

Edit: I don't agree with Greenspan since he's only head of the Federal Reserve Board, and there are 6 other members that all decide what actions are taken, Greenspan is only popular cause he's the one on TV all the time

1.) George Bush Sr. (the puppet master)
2.) The Pope (1 billion people listen to him)
3.) Elvis (even when dead, he still makes millions and commands respect; people even do a pilgrimage in his name)
4.) Vince McMahon (the owner of the WWF--he's a Kingmaker 😉 )
5.) {TIE} Steven Spielberg
Harvey Weinstein (Miramax studio chief--Starmaker)

6.) ME!!! I'm "The Chosen One!"...........Soon to be #1! 🙂 🙂
