Killer portable, brother! You scored with that large screen, beautiful. Have fun!

Thanks, yeah! this one is better than the HP...by a long shot. One thing that I noticed with the HP was the wall charger got hot, I mean real hot, where its almost untouchable
but the Toshiba is cool to the touch even after being plugged in all night.

One thing about the new Toshiba P105 is that I haven't enabled the "Fingerprint Reader" yet...I guess I'm just a little unsure of it 😉

Don't worry about the fingerprint reader. It is an interesting peripheral and one that I found kind of handy. I the fingerprint program on my Qosmio allows me to register website passwords and enter the passwords with just swiping my fingerprint. Makes it more secure and fast in dealing with passwords. You can even program it to use your fingerprint to login into windows. Enjoy!

The only 17" notebook I'd really want to get would be the 17" MacBook Pro. If I'm going to get a large portable at all, I want it to be as easy to carry as possible. You can't get much lighter and thinner in the class than the MBP.

There's a certain perverse appeal to those mega entertainment notebooks, like the Toshiba Qosmio G35 or Sony's AR series: you could have one device that handles everything. However, they're not really portables. They're media centres for apartments and dorm rooms.

Perverse appeal? Give me a break. That came out of left field for sure. The Qosmio has performance and ability to be my desktop replacement when I go on the road. My Qosmio doesn't stay stuck in my home and I have great AV abilities in just about anywhere I please to go. Sure it is a beast but it is definitely portable enough to swing over my shoulder in my backpack and go anywhere, anytime. BTW, I don't have anything against MacBooks. I just like PC stuff. So to each their own.

I said "perverse" meaning that you know these media jukebox notebooks aren't really practical for most people, but you know you want them anyways. Regardless of what you think about OS X, you have to admit that the 17" MacBook Pro and the Qosmio G35 are aiming at two very different users.

One thing that surprised me about the Qosmio was the keyboard: the keys are decently sized! A lot of Toshiba notebooks are awfully cramped, so it was nice to see that the designers used the extra space to make the keys bigger, not just add more keys (as some companies have done).
