Yup, I got the beta about 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday I bought Win2000 Pro.
That should about sum up what I thought of Whistler.
[*]Windows Media Player 6 is the best one, the newer ones are just bloatware.
[*]Having to register with microsoft to make hardware changes is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard.
[*]My two big complaints with Win2k exsist in XP as well (60Hz refresh problem with games, and no sound in a DOS box).
[*]The new skin this is a waste of resources, yeah you can turn it off...but why should I have to go through all that crap when I like the old one just fine?
[*]ditto for System Restore
I think that WinXP is to Win2k as WinME is Win98. Might be good for home users and stuff that are too dumb to be allowed near their own system files, but for me I'll stick to Win2k. They are both NT5 so they'll run all the same software, plus I don't have to register Win2k with microsoft.
