i personally would:
1. get a 865pe chipset vice 875. I like Asus myself.
2. drop the soundcard. (unless you are really big on audio. Onboard sound is much better than it used to be.)
3. memory- i assume that you are getting (2) sticks of 512- you must use 2 DIMMs to gain the benifit of dual channel DDR...

probably be cheaper in the end.... with the same performance. (actually better if you were only getting 1 stick o' ram)

Probably because its cheaper and performs just as well except without ECC memory support.
