I refuse to stop using floppies until there's a good alternative. A CD is NOT a good alternative because:
It's much larger in size (does NOT fit in a shirt pocket)
It's much more cumbersome to write/erase files on CD
Lots of other machines still depend on floppies
It's STILL the easiest way to get a 25kb document from one computer to another just across the room (if not networked.)
I would hope something like the LS-250 would have really taken off... maybe CD-R will improve over the years that we can get CD-RW discs half the physical size for dirt cheap prices that are written to and erased on the fly like a floppy/HD/zip is...
Until then, I'm-a keepin' mah floppy! :Q
