Any form of spider, followed closely by centipedes. I will run screaming like a girl.

These scare the crap out of me... They move incredibly fast and when you squish them the disconnected legs still try to run away....

The deadly kind from Africa and south America.

Like the bulldog ant. Hundreds swarm you, pierce your skin, and others go inside your skin and attack you from the inside.

Black Widow.

Mosquitos.

My most feared insect? Probably a 12 foot tall spider that sucks your insides out while you're alive. I'm so glad they don't exist.

Black widow spider. I caught one the other day in my back yard. Hard to believe something so tiny can kill.
Yeah, but same for all spiders....the likelyhood of being bitten and them secreting enough venom to give you more than a bruise is doubtful. Spider venom is approximately 5 times more potent than snake venom, but there just isn't as much of it and their small fangs usually cannot penetrate our fatty tissue (especially in america) for the venom to go directly into our bloodstream.

Correct about the venom statement. The black widow's bite has been greatly exaggerated by the media. Their bites rarely lead to death of healthy adults but can be very painful. The brown recluse, which was mentioned earlier, is much more deadly in terms of the toxicity of its venom. Bullet ant bites/stings are also at the top of the list of pain.

But from what I hear nothing compares painwise in the insect/arachnid world to that of the giant japanese hornet. Now those things are scary. Luckily we don't see many of those around Baltimore.

Baltimore has so many huge cockroaches! ugh :(

I've never even seen a cockroach, outside of pet ones. I think its just to damn cold for them up here.

Banana spiders creep me out, but not really scare me. Same for cockroaches. Little bastards!

You're thinking of the siafu, not bulldog ants.

I'd have to go with a funnel-web spider. They're quite deadly :(

This would scare the CRAP outta me

These bastards can run at 30MPH!

No they can't, and they also aren't that big. At their largest, they're around 6" across. They are also in no way poisoness. There are just a lot of myths about them, because they're incredibly freaky looking.

Yeah, I edited to change the speed. I dunno about the size thing. I know the soldiers have two there, but that's still pretty huge looking.

Look at the pic, and you can see the sleeve of the guy holding the bug up. Looks right about 6" to me.

And they do move rather fast, and often do give chase to larger creatures as a defense mechanism, like many spiders.

I meant in the general sense. A lot of people seem to think they're massive, when in reality, they aren't that big at all.
