Your kid to fat? get taken away!

Lawyers for the mother say the county overreached when authorities took the boy last week. They say the medical problems he is at risk for do not yet pose an imminent danger.

Of course, since there is no danger, there is no reason to react!!! Like when a drunk driver is driving - why arrest him?!! He didn't hit anyone!!

Stupid laws.

Stupid gubnaments!!!!

what's the problem? The kid is 8 years old and weighs 200 lbs. If that isn't child neglect, I don't know what is.

I wouldn't call it neglect. I would call it stuffing him full of bad food. My aunt always did this to me when i was younger. Always encouraged me to eat more. Fuck you Auntie now I'm working my way down from 290 lbs at 6"0'.

who cares?

200 lbs at 8? wow. he is 155lbs more then my 9 yr old heh. hell he is more the me!

i wonder how tall the little butterball is?

good that he was taken from the home. This is neglect.
Your 9 year old is 45lbs?

FWIW, I've got 2 lbs on the kid. Think I can take him.

yeah she is also pretty damn short she is 3ft 10inch. my 5 yr old has 2 lbs and almost as tall as her (he is 3ft 7). He is very stocky though.

of course 12 hours of gymnastics a week will keep the fat off a kid.

the trick is to feed the kid. does wonders for growth.

what? i gotta feed them? next you will be telling me i gotta let them sleep in the house and not the barn. fucking idiots spoiling kids. 😉 😛

she eats pretty well. lots of small meals. Though i do wish she would gain more. she refuses to eat red meat unless its steak. with how active she is i am out of ideas.

Neglect? I don't think this its neglect. If it was neglect, I'd expect the kid to be severely underweight and malnourished. Seems like this is just the opposite, parents aren't doing their job.

I'm in the camp of not seeing a problem with this.

How in the bloody hell does a kid get that fat? Seriously?

Being a little chubby is one thing, but I can't imagine a picture of a 200lb 9 year old looks like anything other than this:

my 8 year old is about 40 lbs and around 44". she eats a lot too but like yours she's in gymnastics at least 10 hours a week. my 5 year old is almost as tall as her big sister and at the same weight.

EDIT: on topic, i'd say if i had a choice between Child Welfare Services focusing on a kid who is fed too much vs. a kid who is fed too little, i would rather they focussed on the child who was fed too little if only to prevent that child from suffering. i doubt the heavy kid is suffering.
