I dont have any particular link to provide, but I would assume most of us, at one time or another have taken one and remember our scores.

I dont put much weight behind them personally. Paper testing intelligence doesnt get to the meat of life intelligence alot of times in my opinion.

I score high everytime I take one, but there are som tings i just dont do my goodest at and othurz peeples r smart than me:p

Those online tests are nothing like real IQ tests. That said, I don't have a whole lot of faith in either one.

What you'll see in this thread is that as the thread goes on, the IQs will go up, because no one on the board will admit that they are not the smartest person here.

I put more value into common sense.

Most tests don't account for that.

Points don't mean too much since different tests give differen numbers. Percentile rank is a better number to use (see www.Mensa.org).

I scored in the 99th percentile when I took a couple of tests to qualify for Mensa, but I agree that IQ tests only measure some aspects of intelligence, such as logic and symbol processing, not "people skills" or "street smarts." Like McKay on SGA I'd score much, much lower on those :)

ive never taken one and...well id do terribly, most likely. not so much because im stupid, but because if a question on a test takes more than a few seconds for me to answer it, i dont do it out of laziness and apathy.

<--- didnt do so great in HS chemistry

What boggles me is that if the average is about 100. Then there must be some really stupid people. I score 135-144 depending on the test. Even my sister who is seriously retarted got 108 in one of them, but still there has to be some counter weight to get the average to lowly 100...

think of the user base here, if ignore the idiocy that is inherent on the internet most of the core user base is college age kids, many of which are in very good schools, and people in industry that hold decent positions may of which are admin/management

Most if not all of them are FAR from average

Just because someone posts like a moron on the internet does not mean they are an idiot IRL,

So if you want to believe it or not, many of us are above average
also those of us posting here are "privileged? because we have computers and internet access we represent the minority of the people out there, the majority does not have the access we so and therefore the AT AVG IQ is going to look nothing like the real worlds

Oh yeah? Mine is Skewe's Number :p

edit edit: and it's not spelled "googleplex." Plus one point to your IQ for thinking of that number... minus two points for spelling it wrong.
