Your Heatware Email Address

I ran a google search on the one email address that I get a TON of spam in, and the only result that came up was my heatware profile. If I can find it like this, then I imagine it'd be easy for spam bots to get to it as well. I sent a message to the heatware support email and changed my address to a yahoo account that I don't use regularly. I probably should've used that account to begin with 🙂 Any thoughts?

Did you ever hear anything back from them?

I have written a few times over the last 6 weeks or so asking if there is any way of keeping email spiders from picking up ones address via them but have never received a reply.

The only result on my email address via search engines is heatware and I don't recall that ever happening until the past couple of months. If possible, it would be great if they can find a way to stop this from happening or allow one the option to place something like 'remove' in our email address listed in order to keep this from happening.

My heatware acct is the only acct I get spammed on -- and it's bunches! And, the op is right -- a google search on my heat email addy produces ONLY the heatware page... Hmmmmmmm....

There are other ways of getting your email address. especially if it's your own domain. and if it's from a free email account, chances go up.

Irregardless of whether one gets spam because of it, would anyone else like to see them change things so ones email address doesn't show up on search engines?

I use to check periodically and up until recently, say the last few months, my address never showed on them. Not sure if Heat changed anything on their end but I would like the option to either change my address slightly as mentioned above or have them change something on their end so that addresses no longer show up on search engines.

man.. i searched for just my user name and heatware is at the top of the list. my own web page doesn't even show up. and i never use to get spam at this address. i don't get much at all but it started around 3 months ago. so is there anything being done? There is a way to stop google from indexing pages but i don't rember. i saw it explaned once and ws real simple. something about creating a file by some name and listing all the directories you wanted it to ignore.
