Your "guestimate" on high speed costs in next few years?

Do you guys think high speed internet prices will go up or down as more people start to use it and request it?

my price has pretty much stayed steady for the last 6 years... so ill say it will probably drop in price but not by much.

Probably go down slightly/stay the same because there will be more players in the market and types of service which will help keep the costs competitive.

when attbi went to comcast it went up a whoopin $20 for me...

thats why im asking...if it goes up anymore i may not continue.

they have done nothing but gone up where I live. We only have one choice for cable, and for people like me who dont have a home phone, its the only real option. I would love to get in on the Yahoo/SBC deal, but even at $29.99, I would have to add a home phone line for ~$20 a month, which is about $15 more than I am paying for cable right now.

My broadband service has been great.
But the price has gone up and up, it is up 50% on what they were originally charging.

They will try to justify the rate increase by offering you additional useless services. That's what Adelphia did to me. Those bastages.

When the Power Line standard (don't remember the standard number) is in place, I foresee a very minimal charge for the service but I do see them charging for apps that will reside on the web not local DL's

Cox cable has gone up in price, even with DSL coming into the area.

I can only remember it going down twice and that was during the first month of service more than two years ago.
The price was $29.99 per month when it first started. Now I pay $45 ($49.99 minus $5 for a certain cable TV package). That's a wee bit of an increase. Still, I was paying $20 plus for dial-up plus a LOT for phone calls, I figure I am still saving money.

Any more new info on that? I heard about that a year or so ago and have heard nothing sense. I do however, live in BFE so I've been praying to God every night that it will hurry up and get here I fear it is my only hope.

For Rogers Cable I was paying $45 went down to about $42.. then I switched to DSL and was paying $45 and now i pay $39

It's gone up $5 here since I got it back in 96 or 97 I think.
I rather imagine it'll keep going up but slowly. Probably be paying another $5 in 2 to 4 years I imagine.
