Pc gamers can chose gaming resolution.
also with 1080p screen we can chose to play

- at lower resolution (gpu bottleneck)
- in downsampling (nvidia dsr) (144p-4k- ... )

of course we can also buy monitor with different native resolution

1680x1050 but I plan on getting a 1920x1080 when this Samsung dies. I can't justify spending over $200 on a monitor.

I had to pick 3 because it depends on the game. Sometimes I'm at 1080p on my TV, sometimes 1440p on monitor, sometimes I run DSR to greater than 1440p on either screen. Some games I use a mouse and keyboard on my monitor and others a Xbox One controller on my TV.

1680 x 1050 next monitor will be 4k once a respectable 4k monitor & card can be acquired for around $400-500 total cost.

1200p for me.

Might just jump straight to 4K in a few years time. Let the specs get settled, let prices drop.

i hope u re young dude :)

We'll get there probably two generations from now on the card. Monitor I'm not so sure of but I can't imagine it being more than 3 years on some sale site.

People have said cost will remain high on discrete graphics cards, 1080P monitors will stay expensive, heat will be too much from cards, more than 128mb or 256mb or 512mb etcetera cards will be too impractical or expensive and they all have been wrong.

I'm still on 1080p, 55" LED LCD. No real complaints even after experiencing a 4k gaming session on SLI'd Titans back in April. I'm much more excited about VR and would rather spend the money in that direction. Ever since my first DK2 experience it really stuck with me. Much more impact and immersion than having a 4k panel in front of me.

I game on a 24" LCD, native res is 1920x1080 and I'm using that resolution for all the games that support it.

1080p. I enjoy that gaming can be a cheap hobby. I would probably upgrade if there were games that needed more than 1080p as a minimum requirement, but can't justify throwing my monitor/TV away and spending ~$1000 to play the same exact games at a higher res. I enjoy that gaming is a cheap hobby at this resolution. I am currently using a 1080p TV from 2006, a 1080p monitor from 2010 and a HD 7970 that was bought on EBay after the mining craze.

Took the words out of my mouth. I sold my 2009 STI back in May and built the computer in my sig with a small sliver of the proceeds (it was paid off and sold for $28k). For the price of simply putting the car on the coilovers I was about to buy, I built a "no compromises" gaming PC. Cheap hobbies FTW. I'm not sure I'll go back to car hobbies for quite a while. Still love working on them, but I'll stick to maintenance and cheap mods.

Kind of surprised at the number of users at 1440p already. Although this is an enthusiast forum, so I expect gamers in general are still mostly at 1080p,

I answered 1080p single screen, although I do have a dual monitor set up, but I only game on one. My lowly HD7770 barely can handle 1080. In fact Witcher 3 is barely playable, probably averages in high 20's, but no other new, demanding games interest me, so I am living with it. It actually seems like the performance is worse after the last patch.

my 8.4" tablet has a 2560 x 1600 display

kind of ridiculous and totally unneccesary as the pixel density goes beyond retina, it just causes undue stress on the puny little soc in this thing

1920x1200. And I've had the same monitor for well over 10 years now. HP L2335.

If I ever upgrade, it will be for 2560x1600 or whatever seems appropriate. Probably in the 27 inch range.

I have a Dell 27'' 1080p IPS display I've had a couple years now. 1920x1080 still looks very good to me. I won't replace this monitor until 4K becomes affordable. Meaning that a $200 graphics card will be able to do 4K justice. Be a long while before that happens.

1200p. Generally only game on a single monitor (center) despite having 3x1200p monitors. Don't like stretching over multiple except in rare circumstances.
