A favorite poet is a bit like a favorite author, or favorite band, or favorite food. I don't have any single favorite.

I go through stages of course, where I read someone voraciously.

One that has occured to me frequently in the last four years, and expecially today is Yeats

The Second Coming -- W. B. Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

I never read much poetry really. I like Poe, but I'm more a fan of his prose. I really like Tolkien's style, though most people wouldn't call him a poet. The Lays of Beleriand has a lot of poetical stuff in it.
