Your favorite laptop manufacturer?

Things to consider are firmware/hardware support, technical support, build quality, and features. Only recent (1yr old) laptops should be considered. Please state your reason.

I voted for IBM. They have great support and the quality of their laptops are amazing 🙂 It is a close call though since I also like the design of the Sony laptops and the price of Dell.

Asus. Durable systems with frequesnt updates on bios's and drivers and great cust. service

I voted for Dell. Good quality and nice designs on the newer models all for reasonable prices.

I have owned Compaq(before they were bought by hp), HP and IBM.

I like IBM the best.

I've voted for Gateway. I have owned Dell and HP in the past, and have had no real issues. The Gateway has been a great machine.

I've owned or used laptops by IBM, E Machine, and Compaq and my favorite by far is IBM. The basic reason for that is if (on very rare occasions with an IBM) it needs service I can get it back from IBM the same week. Since I need the laptop for work the sooner it can be fixed the better. The 4-6 week service time by Gateway is a complete joke!

Asus - Great prices, great TOP quality, and excellent cust. service. The entire Puerto Rican government bought Asus Laptops. I have never had one returned for any type of repair, and the minor things that did go were covered very quickly by Asus direct to the end user, can't ask for anything more than that.
