Your favorite hot sauce?

I use hot sauce on a lot of things, and I'm looking for something a little hotter than Tabasco. I'm using Frank's extra hot sauce, and it's pretty good, but I'd like to try something with bit of kick to it.

I've given the Tabasco Habanero a try, but didn't care for the taste.

Any recommendations for something I could get at my local supermarket?

Someone tricked me into eating a spoon of 'Dave's Insanity Sauce' once. It was horrible. I'm terrible with hot things 🙁

Daves is nice, if you want eyeball seering hotness
tabasco is OK kinda mild, i dont like its taste tho

i have a various assortment of them, some are pretty good, wimp ass wimpy one is good and so is the ass kickin hot sause

nice thread, recently i was contemplating if i should initiate a thread on hot sauce, you beat me to it 🙂

i second tapatio idea, pete's wasnt too bad either especially for what it costs. tabasco just tatest too bitter and 'chemical(ly processed)'
dave's wasnt too great, there was some other louisiana something brand whose name eludes me at the moment...

anyhow, me and my roomie are on a mission to seek the answer to that question.. on every trip to kroger we buy 1-3 different brands each for the sake of comparison 🙂

EDIT : lol it was franks that i have tried, not dave's... it was somewhat bland, still way better than tabasco tho..

The only hot sauce I ever have around is Taco Bell's Fire sauce, which isn't really even all that hot..

I used to blend Franks xtra hot with some Dave's to give it an extra kick without changing the flavor a whole lot.

i see your from mississippi. take a trip to your nearest Quaker Steak & Lube (may be florida)

and ask them for the Atomic wings.

Let me know how your quest goes. I'm always trying new sauces, so I'll let you know what I think.

The hot chilli/pepper sauce I am using is Chilli Garlic Sauce by Huy Fong Foods. You can buy it at any Asian grocery stores.

i like the taste of Taco Bell Hot Sauce. Fire tastes like crap. I put it on everything, from hamburgers to macaroni and cheese.

Sounds great, but I'd like to keep my taste buds until I die.

They pretty much recover after a couple of weeks.

There's some good habenero sauces around, but I always end up with something kinda ethnic and local-made. None of the commercial sauces manage to be hot and have flavour at the same time (when you start critiquing Dave's sauce on flavour, you know you've reached another level😀)

If only coffee tasted good with hot sauce, I'd never eat real food again.

if you want something that is truly hot, go to your local asian grocery store, there are some good hot sauce there.

Cholula is my "utility" hot sauce. I also like Pica Picante and Valentina. I have not been able to find Pica Picante anywhere in the US and I couldn't even find it last time I was in Mexico which is where it came from before. Valentina I can find in most specialty stores. Cholula is usually available at any grocery store.

The El Yucateca XXX Hot Original Mayan Recipe is pretty good and decently hot...I can often find that in grocery stores, too.

For a different speed, the El Yucateca Chipotle Sauce is really awesome.
