I tried sherwin williams and didnt like it too much. A chair rubbed against it and took a 2x2" square of of the wall. It scratched and peeled way too easy.

So whats your favorite brand of paint.

Sherwin-Williams, because my mom works for them. 😉

Besides that, I think Behr is pretty good.

Best paint for the money IMO

Yeah I thought something was wrong with that.

It's pretty inexpensive, and IMO, SW is overpriced - a lot of that money is for the name. Behr has better value.

I believe Consumer Reports picked Behr as the best value.

Our house is painted almost entirely with Behr paints we got for $5 in the "OOPS!" pile.

American Tradition Signature Series at Lowes. Expensive but it's a true one-coat application and you can't hurt that stuff.

Behr is good as well if you want quality paint at an affordable price. Home Depot is on my $hit list right now though.

according to consmerreports walmart brand 'dutch boy' was by far best for the money. I used behr, but its kind of flat and thus gets messed up easily

I thought Dutch Boy was a SW thing? Did Walmart do a shameless rip or something?

Dutch Boy is a Sherwin Williams-brand product-- however, they sell it at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc instead of at their stores.

Kelly-Moore, only cause i worked for them for awhile? 😀 And when I painted i used their stuff.

Behr is pretty decent for the money. is it the greatest? no, but at the price it sure is wonderful.

Sounds like improper prep work.

After making this thread, i went back upstairs to take a look, and i definately think that may be the problem. I noticed dark spots, they almost had small bubbles. The room was painted well over a year ago too. Funny thing is , it was painted by "professionals."

Sounds like there was oils on the wall that didn't get washed off properly. Latex just won't bond to anything oily, regardless of paint brand.
