I think the issue comes down to, a mouse in the house can bring about problems and it's something you don't want around.

I don't care if they are outside, just not near my house because that means they could get in.

but in the wild and certain types as pets, they are adorable. more so than a ferret. those things are ugly as sin.

rats. rats are horrible filthy creatures. but mice, generally not so.

destrekor, I agree with the pest aspect, same with squirrels getting in the attic, etc..... but people will jump higher when a mouse runs by than when a damn squirrel jumps out of the rafters....... and it's really funny when people are afraid of pet mice in a cage, but not gerbils........

Rats are very fastidious groomers. I'm seen my boys wrestle with each other, then both cease to groom their fur, then run to get my cheeks nibble kisses.

Male mice will fight to the death. Male rats will wrestle friendly then snuggle together.

EDIT: i've officially decided, 2 week old baby mice are officially the cutest thing ever....... darn little thing looks like a micropuppy or something, like a mix between a pound puppy and a micro machines....

That tree mouse looks like the last mouse one of my cats killed and ate. Oddly enough, the mouse was pregnant at the time, and my cat didn't eat any of them. They were all placed carefully aside and left. Tasteless morsels?

It's probably the naked tails. People wouldn't like squirrels if it wasn't for their bushy tails...

They aren't very photogenic.

At least, mine aren't. As I understand it though, males get really lazy as they get older and become couch potatoes. Should get some good pics then.
