Hmmm, you're supposed to clean them? I never have. That's why they call them disposable.

2 week disposable?

I don't know the effects of over wearing them, but I do it all the time.

Rich, I have the bad habit of over wearing my disposables, too. My doc said that some blood vessels were beginning to penetrate the cornea, which will lead to even worse vision, and worst case, blindness.

I'm getting better at cleaning them regularly though.

Mine told me that too. But, my vision actually improved. I used to have 6.5, but now have 6.0. I quess I am lucky, considering how long I've been doing it. The only time I had a problem was 5 years ago. I didn't even own a pair of glasses. My eyes were really irritated, so I had to take them out. One day of wearing my wife's glasses to my business at the mall convinced my to buy a pair. Hasn't changed my wearing habits though.

I use that Alcon all-in-one stuff, but I'm not really happy with it. I've got some questions about this contact lens deal.

1. How bad is it to have dirty contacts?

2. How bad is it to fall asleep in them (only twice or so over a 3-4 year span)?

3. Will any of this have an impact on my laser-eye surgery in a few years?

Don't mean to sound paranoid, just a little curious.

I stopped wearing my contacts because I'm just too lazy to put them on. I've been an eyeglass wearer for as long as I can remember, and my girlfriends wanted me to try contacts. It's cool having perfect vision without the frame, but I think I look better with the glasses.
Anyone know of any adverse effects of keeping the lenses in the case with solution for a long time? I thought I heard somewhere that says not to keep it in its case for more than a week or so.

1. Who really wants filthy contacts?
2. Sleeping in them isn't that bad. It just sucks trying to find it in the back of your socket, and not to mention the red eye in the morning.
3. Laser surgery? I'm not sure, but I hope to get it too one day. With all the cash I spent over the years on eyewear, I could have had some Lasik or something.
