Anyone who does their job with integrity and to the best of their ability is underpaid.

Edit - Double Time Warp.

Fairly paid. I nef on AT during work, but that's because I'm efficient and they don't seem to mind.

I'm unemployed, but when I was working I'd have considered myself fairly paid by industry standards, but under payed like every other surveyor.

Maybe a little bit underpaid.

I look at my school's salary reports for 4 your degree; updated for 2008-2009. For computer engineering, the average reported salary is $60k. I make a little more than that but I've been out of school working for 1 year. Granted the sample size is small, and for all of these, I'd guess the students with good jobs lined up are more likely to report them. But still, the lowest reported salary for computer engineering is $53k! Dang chemical engineers average with a BS is $67k!

And while I went to a decent engineering school (Michigan Tech) it is nowhere near high ranked around the country.

Surprisingly, the numbers reported for 2008-2009 are just about identical to those when I graduated in 2007-2008. You would've thought that salaries would dropped due to the recession, but they are at least as high. The numbers reported have went down, but I couldn't draw any conclusion about that until 2010 when all numbers to report would have been reported.

I'm pretty underpaid right now. With the paycut due to the economy going south I'm making 20% less than my best offer straight out of school. It sucks and I don't see the opportunity for a raise in the next year or two, though I will get about 10% back later this year when the paycut expires.

Gotta say under because they made my position do 8 hour days plus lunch. So, 2 hour commute both ways, plus minimum 8.5 hours at work a day. This wouldn't be so bad if everyone did it, but no, only us. Everyone else is 7.25 to 7.5 plus lunch. At all my previous jobs, I voluntarilly stayed the extra half hour if it was necessary, but this just annoys me.

Your company is weird. Every place I worked at has always been 8 working hours, lunch was unpaid.

Edit: My first time warp. That was pretty anticlimactic.

My company is based on a 7 hr day (9-5 + 1hr lunch). I believe that is standard in advertising.

I'm a .NET developer and my initial offer for full time after graduating with a MS in computer engineering is 10/hr. Despite having 6 months of internship

I believe that I'm fairly paid. A couple of my coworkers are underpaid (the two in my department making less than me), and a ton are overpaid (outside of my immediate office).

I'm fairly paid. I slack off some times (usually while the computer is processing) and other times I put in more effort than I should. It really depends on how busy we are. The slack off times keep me sane.

I'm a Sys Admin with 3 years experience (5 if you count consulting) and specialize in VMware, SANs, and Linux. Currently make $56k at my current job however my specialties are rarely used. This new job is a Windows shop and I spend most of my days completing backup reports, working trouble tickets, setting up new users, and supporting apps because the other 3 Admins like to work with VMware and the SAN so they get to do so over me since I'm new, even though I have more VMware experience than they do.

I think what I'm earning now is pretty close to what I should be making with my experience for the type of work I'm doing and for living in South Dakota. At my old job I was more of a System Admin/Architect and I was pretty much a one man show. Was making $51k there but probably should have been getting $60k when you factor in the work I was doing and the responsibility.
