To get a feel for what the average user currently likes in a mid-range to high-end card, I'm proposing the following question: If given $350 dollars to spend (plus or minus 25), what PCI-e graphics card would you purchase, and why? Pretend you're not planning on using SLI.

I would get the X800XL as is a good card fo the money, and with the money left over, I can get a game or 2, some memory, etc. Best bang for the buck in High-end graphics cards =)

Wait for the vanilla GeForce 78xx card. The 7800NU equivalent should be in that price range, and shouldn't be far away.
