Because they can back it up. Accord platform: Jack of all trades, master in none. 3 series: Designed from ground up as ultimate sports sedan.

So what determines a car to be an Ultimate Driving Machine?

I remember reading a CAR or EVO magazine who calls the E46 M3 a jack of all trades. Its good in a lot of areas... its luxorious, its fast, and it looks good, but it isnt that great in one aspect because it tries to be everything... which is why it got porky. Go figure eh?

BMW has RWD, it has Inline 6 cylinder, great interior, great exterior, great handling, great pedigree, great prestige. It's the real deal. The TL is 3 series wannabe Accord. Acura continues to figure out how to best modify the accord to various applications, while BMW develops cars for specific applications.

Heh. You sound like Nebor. :p

I'm not standing up for Honda here (even though I would probably take the TL over the 3), I'm just asking why people are so caught up in this "Ultimate Driving Machine" image. If those are your reasons then so be it. I just find it funny the it's called the Ultimate Driving Machine when most people that drive it around here couldn't care less if it were RWD or it has "great handling". As long as it has the badge then they're golden.

If you want a sports sedan on the cheap, the answer is G35, not TL. TL is if you want an Accord with a little more agressive look and feature content. Maybe with SH-AWD it would be more competitive.
