Your brother's wife's brother... is he your brother in law?

*edit*

the reason i am asking is because I am arranging my brother's bachelor party with my brother's future brother in law.

for simplistic sake I am just saying "Rosemary's brother"

someone said why don't you say brother in law.

Clarification: He's not really related to you at all, it's your sister-in-law's brother.

It's all relative: It is easier to say "My Brother-in-Law" than to say "My Brother-in-Law's Brother".
It's not like anyone is going to any extreme measures to disprove you!

Or your brother's brother-in-law. But to you, he's just a dude.

A brother-in-law is one's sister's husband, or one's spouse's brother. One's spouse's sister's husband is also considered a brother-in-law.[1][2] The plural of this term is "brothers-in-law".

Example: Rob and Gwen are married. Gwen has a Sister, Claire, and so Rob is Claire's brother-in-law. Claire will marry Neil, who will then become Gwen's Brother-in-law. Furthermore, Rob and Neil will become brothers-in-law to one another.

Yes.

If you're going to take the time to check wikipedia, at least take the time to read and comprehend it.

It makes no mention of siblings on the "outside".

Lemme break it down using their example.

Gwen and Claire are sisters.

(Are we good so far?)

Gwen is married to Rob. THEREFORE... Rob is Claire's Brother-In-Law.

Claire marries Neil. THEREFORE Neil is Gwen's and Rob's Brother-In-Law

Rob and Neil both married into the same family.

Nowhere did you hear about Jack, Rob's biological brother.

If you need me to get more specific I can talk about my family.

I have one brother, Joe. He is married to Kristen. Kristen is my brother's wife.

Kristen has a brother (Matt) and a sister (Katie). Katie is married to Ted, Matt is married to Sarah. Matt is my brother's wife's brother.

Matt and Ted both meet the definition for Joe's Brother's in law, Katie and Sarah both meet the definition for Joe's Sisters-in-law.

However, only Kristen meets the definition for sister-in-law for ME. Matt is not considered my brother-in-law.

Yeah, the fail is strong with this one.

He's your brother's brother in law.

To paraphrase Zeus:
"He ain't your brother in law. He ain't your partner. He ain't your neighbor, your brother, or your friend. He's your total stranger."

Sooooo, how's this for weird.

This incident happened when I was a teen to my younger brother who is a year younger than I.

My biological grandmother on my father's side died and my grandfather a few years later remarried. His new wife had some grand daughters around our age and my brother thought one of them was cute. I couldn't bring myself to like them in that way, but he had no problems with that. Yah, they aren't related by blood, but there is enough fish in the sea in my opinion that there is no need to dip your chip in the same family dip even if it was brought in later to the potluck.

Just a tangent to the thread that's barely connected to which this thread brought back memories.

To the OP. He's nothing technically.

This.

I refer to my brother in law's sisters as my sister in laws.

Just get to the part where Kristen, Katie and Sarah hooked up for a weekend of hot lesbian sex.

And Gwen and Claire "accidentally" stumble onto this scene and at first act shocked and totally horrified, then they join in.
