Please try to leave OS out of this.
Aesthetically, functionality, material used, etc...should all be factored in.

1) HD2. I still think its by far the best looking phone.
The 4.3" screen is a big factor with very little bezel.
Very little wasted space. Nice and thin. Not plastically looking.
I like the physical buttons and the fact that the POWER button at at the bottom.
Although the EVO is almost identical, holding both in your hands, the HD2 just feels better.
2) iphone 4. I think the new design is 10x better looking than the old version.
They got rid of the round plastic back.
I do wish Apple would have more than just 1 button though.
I must admit if speaking just aesthetically, the iphone 4 would be #1 but since the HD2 has a 4.3" screen, I placed as my favorite.
If the next iphone version keep the same design but have a 4" screen. This would be the ultimate phone.
3) EVO, Droid X, the Samsung Galaxy ATT version.
All these have their strong and weak points but can't be compared to the first 2.

All phones with screen size smaller than 3.5" are off the list.
Anything phone with a keyboard are off the list since I don't see the benificairy of a keyboard with a screen that big. Just add to the bulkiness.
Since gaming is such a big part of cell phones now, if they need have a keyboard, add a freakin d-pad. The gaming experience can be so much better.

I like the HD2 as well, and get a lot of "WTF is that?" when I use it (recently put a lot of work related lists on it using MS'sMobile Office and use it a lot as a mini tablet)

The iPhone 4, it looks great

EVO

I haven't seen the Samsung stuff yet, but more than 1 review has mentioned they thought it felt "plasticy"

I don't own an iphone 4 but played with one briefly. While I think it looks very nice; the buttons on the side immediately rub whatever they touch (sharp edge). I wonder if they would catch on shirts and similar. I.e, it looks snazzy but for practical usage I have my concerns. I think the droid x is a bit more practical than the evo (i used an evo for a week and found the overall shape a bit odd esp the way the back was more of a v than -.
