Hi,
You all have a been a great help to me this week, advising me on my future pc. Please have a look at this list of specs and tell me if it looks like a good idea to get this pc. With all the extra little doo-dads, minus the shipping, the total comes to about $1600.
I am particularly concerned to know whether it will be okay for me to reuse my old monitor; it's an "esa", power rating 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 2.5A, for whatever that's worth. It is about 2 years old. It is not flat, but I think it's an LCD? the screen is flat, but it is otherwise shaped like an old monitor.
Also if you see anything that really doesn't fit or is a bad idea, please say so! I chose components to the best of my ability but sometimes I was totally guessing.
power supply: Thermaltake purepower 700 watt p.s. (sli ready)
intel core 2 duo E6300
liquid cpu cooling fan system kit
mother board: ECS 965T-A P965 chipset w/ 7.1 sound Gb LAN, USB 2.0 PCI-E MB (quad-core support)
RAM: 2048MB [1024MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module
320 GB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 16M Cache]
NVIDIA GeForce 7950GT 512MB with DVI + TV out video
16X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive
3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard
Mitsumi 1.44 MB Internal Floppy Drive (it was only $8 to add it)
Thermal Temperature LCD Display
OS: MS Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition w/ Free Upgrade Coupon for Windows Vista? Home Premium
Professional wiring for all cables inside the system tower
Opti-UPS SS1200-AVR Mighty Voltage Regulator
no 2nd hd, no raid configuration, no external raid hds, no cd/dvd drive (other than the one listed above)
no speakers - I intend to reuse my old ones.
no fax modem
no monitor - I want to reuse my own
Thank you very much for your input!
