So our youngest child had his 8th grade graduation ceremony tonight and it was pretty cool. Anyone else around here have a child going through this? It's pretty cool to see our "baby" moving on to high school. It's hard to believe that in just four years we will have both kids out of HS . Crazy how time can just fly by sometimes....

Anyway, here's a couple of pics to celebrate this moment in time.

Congrats to your son & enjoy some Remy!

I remember attending our childs public HS graduation and was absolutely amazed at the parental celebrations. Earning a HS diploma earns you a job as chief burger flipper and just didn't feel special as they and 80% of their classmates had passed the CA HS exit exam as Sophomores.

Now they are a college graduate and pay their own rent!

My daughter Liz finishes 8th grade this Thursday. They did not have an in person ceremony so I kind of feel that she and her classmates got cheated this year because of Covid. Didn't have the dance either. They sent me a link to a 1 hour video ceremony. I was thinking this morning about when she was just a baby and will now be going the High School. Time flew by, made me kind of sad. I'm a single dad since her mom left us years ago, so I have been both mom and dad. I have mixed feelings about how it all turned out. I just wish I could of found another mom for her so to speak because puberty is hard for teens and that's when I really think girls need their moms for guidance. But it is what it is. She graduated from the middle school I went to, so that was very cool. Covid really ruined things for us though. I just hope the older kids in High School won't be a bunch of assholes.

Congrats! Crazy how fast time goes. I don't have kids of my own, but just watching my nephews grow up it's crazy. My oldest graduated last year and is heading out of town, my 2nd oldest is graduating next year. Youngest is starting high school this september. Just crazy, it feels like it was not that long ago they were toddlers running around.

I have a brother who shares this exact same sentiment about our sons. He tells us the same thing every time we tell him about milestones like this.

I totally understand....it really sucks that she missed out on that. I can empathize with you because our oldest went through this a couple of years ago when the China virus first hit. He was a HS Senior and the graduation ceremony was literally him on stage for 7 seconds.....it was nice that we had something though.

Congrats! Kids make you feel old. My daughter graduated high school on Monday. We were able to have normal graduation ceremony so that was nice. Yesterday, she picked her dorm room and roommate for college. Watching her graduation ceremony reminded me of my own high school graduation which doesn't seem like it was that long ago. It was surreal watching her walk the stage. Soon she will begin new chapter in her life, and I'll do my best to assist and guide her as much as possible.

Congrats. He has quite a beaming smile. My youngest graduated from 8th grade last summer and is now wrapping up 9th grade HS and I am already teaching him how to drive. Time go by fast when you have kids. Seems like yesterday when he started 1st grade.

It's funny, it seems like only yesterday that we were talking about overclocking our Pentium 233s or how you were cool if Anand posted in your thread. Now we are talking about our graduating children. Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy (didn't shave today) about the cycles of life on a computer forum.

I am sorry but you kid will fit right in with the Adams Family in the second pix. May need to run pix through flash filter.

Also, your headaches are just ramping up. High school kids are royal pains. But you probably already know.

My kids are both already out of high school, the older one is planning to get married next year. It was originally planned for last year, but, you know...
The person she's with seems better than all the other people she dated, and they've been together for a few years, so that's good.

Congrats!! My stepson is graduating college in a few weeks. It sucks because only 2 people can attend in person due to covid, so it's going to be my wife and his dad being there (great for my stepson, not so great for me and his half sister). My daughter will be starting middle school this coming up year. Time sure does fly though!

Thanks for posting this. I just became a papa (6 months ago old now) and I already feel like I was just in the delivery room and time is flying. Helps to remember that there is both a lot of time left and also that I need to remember to cherish it because its going to go fast...
