YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT MONARCH VS NEWEGG

I fully understand supply and demand. Just don't tell me that the prices are going to be lower when they are not going to be. I wasted my time checking for those lower prices and Monarch lost a potential customer. I would have been much happier if he had just been honest and said the price will be $315 until the demand goes down, whenever it is. I could live with that. But after getting my hopes up for a near MSRP price, I can't help but be upset.

I'm sorry , but with that attitude in mind you will never own a:

ATI product
nVidia product
Intel Product
AMD product.
etc
etc
etc

You must be some kind of fool to only buy from one merchant. I love the hypocracy I so often see in PC forums. The same people who hate Monopolies like Microsoft, Wal-Mart and Intel, are the same people who helped to create them in the first place. What I mean to say is that only shopping at Newegg.com is creating the one thing that we dislike the most. So shop around before you make your decision, dont be loyal to any of the merchants and show no mercy!

Congratulations of your new system purchase from Monarch Computer

I bought my Antec SuperLanBoy case from Monarch.. I think his name was Will...

Here's my story..

Drove up to Monarch (they're local -- hour drive!)... Told them I wanted a Super Lanboy case... They told me they were out and that was about to get my new cpu built.. I was pissed.. but then I asked if I could get the floor model and he said sure.. When ringing it up, without me asking he said "I'll knock a few bucks off on that case since we didn't have what you wanted in stock!"

I was like... Well 'feces' damn! Great customer service!

stealthrs

it seems many of you are used to getting the SHAFT, and anytime someone actually does THE RIGHT THING, your esstatic.. such a sad state of affairs, in the overall scheme of things.

Common Sense says do whatever 'you can' that is RIGHT, to please a customer, so they want to come back and purchase from you again, and tell everyone they know to do the same.

I'm not used to getting the shaft, I'm used to having to argue for what is right... That's all there is to it.

If a company can skip that middle step for me, great.

Well I have my own Monarch story. I called them last Wednesday asking about Nforce4 availibility and pricing. Basically, I have been waiting on these boards, but can't afford them at current MONARCH HIGH PRICES. He told me to check back on Friday and over the weekend because the prices should be coming down. The phones would be off, but the website would show the pricing changes over the weekend. So I checked back a BUNCH of times (I mean they probably recorded record hits because of me) and still only found the boards for $315. SO I feel a bit bitter towards them at the moment for getting my hopes up and telling me somethign that obviously WASN'T TRUE. I was really hoping to buy my system from them, but I guess I will probably be looking elsewhere unless they do somethign about that price. Man, I gotta get this system before Christmas! Well, I am glad to hear that you had a good experience with them. I just wish I had gotten the same level of service.

Read your post, he said SHOULD be coming down, not that they were definately coming down and by an exact price. If you want a good product then suck it up and buy it, quit being cheap and then b!tching about it.

I've used Newegg quite a bit. Never had a problem with them, and they always have great prices...at least great prices for everything I've ever bought. I've never bought from monarch (I think I will have to try them out after this thread), but newegg has always treated me well.

Yeah... Honestly, it comes down to the best price.. If you get a better price at Monarch, go monarch... Better price @ NewEgg? Go NewEgg. Both are great when it comes to customer service. So why not go either way?

Hi, my first Comment on this board, I purchased a $175.00 UPS from newegg and was happy with the price and delivery. so a week later I ordered Creative S750 speakers $399.00 Plus $22.00 shipping. they came in 3 days, great.. Iiconnected them up and they SMOKED !! I mean really Smoked !! the amp burned out. when I read there return policy I felt sick. I tryed to get in touch with Creative to return just the amp (cheaper then returning everything to newegg) that did not work out, So I sent everything back to newegg, Cost $34.77 .Newegg credited My charge for $399.00 plus $20.00 shipping. So i'am out $36.77 I talked to a newegg Rep. (
Selipe) and He said he would refund My cost, I got a e-mail from newegg asking me to change My "Very Unsatisfied" review, So I did, I called newegg after 5 week about My refund and was told I would not get it..I think newegg should get the return shipping cost from Creative not me. Newegg is a great place to shop, very good prices and delivery as long as you don't have any problems, But your the one who gets burned if you do.

Sorry to hear this story, but I'm not surprised. I've been shopping with NE for years ($10,000 or so) and I think I need to make a better habit of checking Monarch and ZZF for items.

BTW, Charliex, welcome to the forums. 🙂

Same here. I'm building a complete system and now I'll get at the very least some of it from Monarch.

Been using monarch for awhile. No tax + free shipping is a big plus over newegg on some items. Too bad Monarch has a smaller inventory compared to newegg.

and a mess of a site

The only problem I've ever had was a Newegg purchase I had shipped to my old address.

i'd order more from monarch, but i have to pay sales tax. so i just check prices and sometimes monarch comes out cheaper than the egg even with sales tax. just depends on the product

The rep from Monarch. Told me he got the product off the truck, put in the windchester core, flashed the bios, and that I should get it sometime tommorrow. I about chit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy made my day!!!

whow ! 🙂 But i still dont like how they hike their prices for some items on pre-order.

I just spent close to $1600 on parts for a new system. Due to their constant price adjustments (Gouging) on items I went and spent the money at other stores and avoided them.

I'll buy a vanilla 6800 anywhere I can get one for $200.

However, I have purchased from both places, and I have no complaints with either. However, my purchases from pooegg have VASTLY outnumbered my purchases from Monarch. (I even have one in transit as I type)

If I had ONE complaint about each they would be:

Newegg's return policy on LCD monitors (8 dead pix or more ONLY) thats total BS. IMHO 1 dead pix is totally unacceptible.

Monarch's very limited selection and usual inability to compete on price.

I use Newegg, Outpost (Hotdeals ussually), Ajump and TechSunny. Never had a problem with any of them and they've always been the cheapest between them.

Just for my story, I recently ordered around 1600$ worth of parts, and they all came today via fedex, 1 box from monarch and 2 from newegg. I was very impressed with monarchs shipping, it was very neat and well placed, I had to look for my ram from newegg, it was stuck under my dvd drive, but both were shipped very fast. The best part was that I had ordered an OEM x800 xt from monarch, PCI-E version. Apprently monarch didnt have any OEMs, so they sent me the full retail version, I was so happy it made my day. Thx Monarch, gj also newegg
