I would imagine these things would sell like hot cakes if they make full cover blocks for them. Imagine if amd could get them to scale past 4 GPUs with xdma...

Watercooled octofire anyone? I wonder if there is a reason why 4 way crossfire/sli is all we have seen?

Edit: thought about it and its probably due to pcie bandwidth.

I usually see the big dual GPU cards as a signal that something next gen is about 6 months away or so. You can't go up from here without going next gen. Nowhere else to go.

I'm such a sucker for marketing. I want that card based on the looks alone. All shiny and cool looking.

I have to admit, I'm very impressed about how fast you learned about the video  (thanks for sharing Karlitos).

So I finally watched the video...

God that was painful. How does anyone in amd's PR/marketing department stay employed...

....it wasn't songsmith bad, but close.

Uhhh....did they film that on a phone?

I'm not convinced this card will sell. It has extra mounting concerns, you can't easily xfire these (unless you readily have 2x 120mm mounts in your case within reach) and it's not an open WC system, it's a closed loop...so not going to be as good as just a card with a full coverage block that you can screw your mounts into and cool.

^Seconded. Cringe-worthy.

I have to say the actual artistic design of the product was very well done. Very appealing looking product. It looks Diesel. So, those will be the guys that get fired. Not the guys who did the video. ::shrugs::

I think they are attempting to imitate b-movie style humor or something, but it doesn't give off a good impression.

Instead if thinking wow I have to have this card because secret agents have it I think, dear god they can't even afford to market this thing so I have no confidence they could afford to design it right...

Would look sexy if it didnt have that buggery ugly water cooler thing hanging off it :|

Great cooler design though from an aesthetic standpoint, reminds me a bit of the titan cooler.

I guess I'm beyond giving to craps about aesthetics of a computer beyond the case. I've got the ASUS 670s with the dual fan cooler. Looks neither good nor bad. It cools and I'm happy. :p

I'm more worried about most cases having a single 120mm area in the rear of the case. Cool your CPU or your CPU with that slot, and don't do two GPUs without stacking them and having a powerful 120mm fan (panaflow that's the "high" setting?)

Man that looks like you could swap out the stock loop for two different, bigger, Asetek based loops instead. Would be interesting to do that.

If the Ares 2 is any indication, this card should run pretty cool at stock though. I bet the 120mm fan it ships with is garbage though... they always are.

It would be nice to see one taken apart to see exactly how the cooling is being done and how the loop is done, through the sink or through a hose from one core to the other. If the latter, dual loops are certainly doable with larger radiators.

The two sinks are linked by a hose judging from this picture:

So it is possible. But why are they using two pumps? That's what they are showing, correct? Isn't one enough? Not like you're going to get any extra volume of water pumped as the same amount of water has to pass through the second pump as the first. Or is only one of them a pump?

Where do you see that it mentions about two pumps?

I see two blocks because there are two chips but I wonder if they put another pump in the other block.

I presume there is only one though.

I bet this cooler can be easily modifiable. Anyway, if I was to buy this card, I would slap a waterblock right away for 150$ and call it a day.
