You think the moon landing was faked?

Anyone watch that TV episode where they tried to explore the inconsistencies and impossibilities of the moon landing? They had controversies about incorrect picture shadows, sunlight reflections, dust and landing marks, lethal EM exposures, etc. The only way to prove it to the critics is to actually locate the space vehicles left there. We can now send satellites outside of the solar system... why have there been no pics taken of the moon with the space vehicles sitting there?? Hmmmmmm.... :)

Rim, you are honestly stretching the limit of what is HT with this thread. :)

Please.... There have been skeptics, and always will. Is it possable it was faked, yes. Do I think it was, no. Not even close. If I had even a small bit of doubt, I would just borrow a friend's 200x telle and check it out.

They have to be careful taking pic's of the moon, as you can burn out some optics with it's brightness.

Please read this for a point-by-point rebuttal...Fox (ugh I hate that network) went so far as to claim Gus Grissom and others were murdered by NASA in the Apollo 1 accident because they were going to reveal the hoax...that's utterly dispicable for Fox to claim :|

I have personally met and spoken to Charles Duke of Apollo 16, but I suppose he is just part of the conspiracy.

pm, sorry, i was very bored tonight and my mind started wandering :)

Ok, ok... but why can't they just stop the rumors by showing a simple picture with the space vehicles still sitting there? It sounds so simple, yet no one has done it. Why can't they point the hubble telescope to take a few snapshots to silence all the skeptics? Wow, just imagining if it were true is unbelievable.... the biggest controversy and hoax of all time.

The moon is something like 384,000 km away...let's say that the remnant of the lunar lander is 4 meters wide (I'm guessing). From earth that's an angular resolution of arctan(4m/384,000,000m) = .002 arcseconds. Hubble's WFPC2 camera has an angular resolution of .09 arcseconds, and with the upcoming upgrade, .05 arcseconds (there was an article on the upgrade in last month's Sky and Telescope :)). You still need ~25 times more angular resolution to even see the lander as a single pixel in an image.

Besides, even if Hubble did take an image of the lander, the conspiracy theorists still to call the image "doctored" and continue with their dogmatic belief of the cover-up.

Actually, I once acquired some irrefutable evidence that it was staged (better than Fox)... came bundled with a bridge. PM me, I'll give you a deal.

:D

rimshaker, I rarely post here in HT but I do read it almost daily, anyway if you take this over to the Off Topic forum, you'll receive more responses that you could possibly want. Click and post this question here:
