You think its worth spending an extra $300 for VGA-in? $200 for SD card reader?

So out of these three Panasonic 42" Plasma TV's, the differences that i can see are:

TH-42PX600U - VGA out + SD Card Reader
TH-42PX60U - SD Card Reader
TH-42PX6U - Basic

but are there any other differences between the tv's? otherwise it's the "basic" model for me...

No, I imagine the use is for hooking up a digital camera? Just hook up your camera to the TV as most will have that capability.

I have the 42PX60U and I've never used the card reader. Never saw a reason to yet. It's a beautiful picture btw.

The card reader can be used to upgrade the TV's firmware. Not sure if there is any other way to do it as a DIY;

And if you already have a DVI of sufficient length, you can get a HDMI/DVI dongle I believe.

if you use an adapter, have fun messing around with powerstrip to get as close to 1:1 as possible.

yeesh.. i didn't think it'd be that bad

well, the tv would only have vga. no dvi, so that's weird already...
