how do they match up against 100-dollar range speakers for sale today

think its time to get new ones?

wuts the speaker system with the biggest subwoofer that i can get for around 100 bucks b/c i love bass

I would get an Audigy 2 for that much money.


I don't think you're going to noitce any major differences with speakers for under $100.00. If you want more Bass, then maybe Logitech z560. those are around 125 to 150 depending deal of the day.

Even with an Audigy 2, you won't notice everyday differences for mp3s etc. In some games, you might be able to tell etc.

if you really do care about sound quality and are disatisfied with cheap speakers, 100 dollars aint' gonna cut it.

you can get the boston acoustics BA7800's for about 100 shipped on ebay new

and IMO they are better than the klipsch 4.1s or the logitech z-560's

they are based of a unity 5.1 system that retails for $1K

IIRC they used to sell for $300 and were only available though gateway which is why a lot of people dont have them but you can read a review on 3dsoundsurge.com they are great from what i've read
