well it is a kinda good question somewhat
but if there is a performance drop it is way way less than you will ever ever see
in otherwords there might be one
but it would be impossible to notice
just add a little bit more to this what do u think the secc2 packaged does?
it plasters the chip on the card and connects it to the slot one interface
so really there may be no difference in performance

Using the FC-PGA is the only way to go. Get a generic slocket and you should be fine. The slocket will run cooler and you will get better over clocking capabilities.

Research - are you joking? Generic slotkets are the main reason for OC problems - I doubt I could get to 952 (C2-566) with some generic POS - I believe apekiller had a thread in the CPU forum about this)

This forum is serious ?

some people tell me there's no problem and i don't loos performance !

And another person tell me i can loose 106% of performance....

Then please, help me again,

I'm looking to buy a PIII667 FPCGA (I don't overclock the CPU)
I have Asus P3V4X (slot 1)
And looking to buy Asus converter not a generic converter!

I can loose performance or not and if yes, why ?
if no why?

you think my choice is better if i buy PIII667 slot-1 ?

thanx a lot

Berlu, if you lose 106% performance, you've just been dragged down into negative performance. Think about it, man.

100MB/s data xfer. 100 * 1.06 = 106. 100-106=-6. The data from the FPU would be going the wrong way! :)
