You see them in old movies all the time, but do you know what brought about the demise of "The HAT"?

Up until the 40's or 50's, most men wore fedoras or other "tallish" hats. DO YOU know what brought about the end of these as part of men's fashion?

maybe as people got taller (this is proven) the hats bumped into doorways etc. so people stopped wearing them.

When roof lines started dropping on Autos in the 50's, men could no longer wear hats while driving. This brought about the end of the old hats as everyday wear.
