you need a cc for ebay?

trying to make an ebay account, and it won't let me w/o typing in cc info? i just want to use non-cc paypal to purchase a few things.

Yep, you need a CC or debit card to register. It's required so eBay has a place to bill seller fees if you sell something.

No, either you accept their terms and give it to them, or don't sign up.

yea im pretty sure, clicked signup from the homepage. but i remember there used to be a buyer signup, where you could bypass cc info.. can you ask your brother how he did it?

when i signed up, i didnt need a cc. Although I signed up 3 years ago. You should only need a cc for selling stuff, but they mightve changed it

hey jsut wanted to post my solution. My cousin gave me his isp's email, adelphia and it worked. no cc needed.

maybe write optonline.net's customer service...I'm sure they'd be interested to hear that ebay considers them free/fake or whatever

I think they also require a credit card so you can't create a ton of different accounts on the same credit card. Therefore, if you wanted to play the system and make like 5 accounts, you would need to be someone in credit card debt and because of that, have 5 different credit cards.
