Internet Movie Database
Ebert's four star review
Berardinelli's 3.5 star review

I saw this movie this weekend and it blew me away. I have to say that it is hands down one of the best movies I have seen in years.

It is the true story about two mountain climbers who set out to climb a previously unscaled 21,000 foot peak in Peru. After reaching the top, their expedition goes straight to Hell in a handbasket. Its hard to call it a straight documentary because the whole story is recreated by actors while being narrated by the guys who were actually involved. It is one intense, hardcore story.

Oh yeah, you must watch it in widescreen. The photography is stunning.

I just recently watched this. Solid story, and I liked how it was structured. I appreciated it for its very candid and honest portrayal of the life/death theme. This is what made it so realistic and freaky.

That is the most impressive display of "desire to live" that I have ever come accross.

Absolutely. It made me wonder what type of crap music would be in my head if I were dying. Probably the Spice Girls.

I'm going to laugh when the movies really turns out to be hardcore porn and the result of a vast conspiracy by IMDB, Roger Ebert, and NuclearNed to bring porn into the homes of ordinary families.

Saw it last week, have always liked movies about climbing, loved it.

It was more of a documentary than I expected, but very good.
