First I'd have to make sure he's dead. Sure he's not breathing now, but what if he comes together shortly after I leave? Perhaps he got a glimpse of my plate before I rammed his nuts into his stomach. I'd either find something sharp to lodge into the back of his brain or stuff him in the trunk and drive to the lake.

yeah, you wouldn't want him coming back to haunt you next year.

hehe. yeah, especially in the summer time.

Fvck going to prison.

I'd do what I would have to do to stay out of jail.

Life isn't fair out of prison....in prison...heh, only the big dogs eat.

In either case, dispose of the bodies properly, and no one will ever know...like the old saying goes
"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept,
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people
I had to kill today because they pissed me off.

1. Clean up the murder site as good as I can, dump the body, have the car crushed. Move to another country.
2. Call 911.

Well you set yourself up a motive to get charged with 1st, and even 1st degree murder, the murderer could call the cops on themselves. You may even get a voluntary manslaughter in the first act, since the death was maybe accidental, if you acted without intent to kill.

But anyways, with the forensic science of today, chances are if you have to even ask what would you do, then you would get caught either way, so a smart, rational person takes the course of least punishment to themselves. If you run, hide, try to cover it up, steal his belongings, then when you do get caught, your punishment will be worse.

If you are a sociopath, then it doesn't matter what you do, because you wont care.

Well, leaving prints or blood isn't so bad as long as you haven't or ever will donate semen/blood or have your prints taken.

Turn yourself in. There is nothing worse than a guilty conscience.

Although, the first one would never happen to me. I almost never escalate an argument past a certain point and I would not do something as trivial or adolescent as keying a car.

And, I never drive drunk.

For some random guy? Honestly? I might if it was a kid or a woman, but for Joe Blogs? No way.

I would have to call the ambulance though, it's quite rare for people to die if they're pretty much in one piece and the medics get there within 5 minutes. Even with severe crush injuries to legs and chest (worst case scenario) there are things they could do.

Some believe it does. You are 'paying your debt' to society, so when you get out, you don't owe anyone anything. Pretty nieve IMO. Personally I'd feel like I was wasting time I could spend actually doing something useful, for free I guess, to benefit society rather than put a drain on it for the sake of punishment.

If you give yourself up after the murder (assuming it's scenario1) then you effectively render your previous decision void. Why did you kill the man in the first place if you want to go to jail for it? I don't get that part. It sounds as if you have changed your mind for some reason. As if you would feel sorry for what you have done. If you feel sorry for the man then you shouldn't kill him.

The second scenario is, of course, different. Obviously, if possible, I would try to get away with it. It's just natural. I don't think that it's a bad conscience at all, it's survival instinct. So I would hop back in and drive away, carefully complying with all conceivable traffic regulations.

I guess that's one way to get on with your life. I doubt it would work for me - my debt would be to the person I killed and their family. And that can't be repayed. Living with my conscience would be harder then the jail time I think.

Sure there was no one in the parking lot but you forgot about the cameras that are all pointed to it from all different angles capturing the murder so may as well confess because your not going to get away with it.

Turn myself in for both cases. However, for the second I'd get out something alcoholic and start drinking, making sure the cops see me drinking when they get there. (and also making sure the alcohol is in the trunk or something) That way the liklihood of my sentance being tripled since I was drinking will be substantially lower, as that will introduce enough reasonable doubt as to whether or not I was drunk when I hit the dude. (Honestly, I think if I hit someone dead sober and killed 'em I'd probably start drinking as soon as possible. That kind of crap just isn't good for the psyche) I'll still serve time, no doubt, but at least it won't be 40-f%$# years in a PMITA prison followed by a record that will pretty much f%$# me out of any decent job.

See, those two situations are completely counter to my general personality. I don't just avoid driving drunk, it's damn near impossible for me to do so. When I get drunk the first thing that goes is my coordination, and not just a little. I doubt I'd be able to get out of the damn parking lot at the apartment without hitting something, much less get on the highway. And yes, I do know this experience; we had a situation where someone did something very, very stupid in an about-to-be-fatal-soon way and I was the most sober at the time. It worked out okay, thank god, but the experience was anything but enjoyable even without the specter of death hanging over someone.
