I can honestly say, I am the happiest AT member today! I just got custody of my daughter tonight! Its temp until they give us a court date, but my 8 year old is in safe hands tonight! Some of you have heard my rants about how my ex mistreats my daughter. She was arrested today along with her "boyfriend" while picking my daughter up at school. They both had warrants on them. Child Protection is going to charge them with something, not sure, something about sexual exploitation in front of a minor child. They would have sex in the same bed that my daughter was in! Its a long story, that is just one of hundreds of bad things that have happened to my little girl. She is with her dad now, safe and sound. I am going to enroll her in school where I live in the morning. Thank you God.

Hehe I thought you were going to do a Stuart Smalley impression for us, at first.

Heartfelt congratulations go out to you and your daughter. I never knew that men won custody battles, it seems that women always get their way.

I'm so glad to hear that you're going to be able to keep your child safe with you !! I do hope that your ex pulls herself together and gets the treatment and helps she needs so that she can somehow contribute positively to the child's life !

best of luck !!

Wow! Go you! It's unfortunate that some children have irresponsible parents; be sure to take really good care of your little daughter :)

On a side note....I wonder how anyone can stand an ex like that... :(

That's a myth actually, men have a better chance of getting custody when they seek it, it's just that men rarely seek custody.

I guess this means sysadmin has a pretty good chance of getting to keep his daughter permanently. :)

My daughter is very excited about living with me. I am taking her to her new school in about an hour. We went and bought a bunch of new clothes last night. She isnt used to going to school everyday, her mother has been charged with educational neglect for 2 years in a row now. She will have consistancy in her life now, coming home to the same house everyday, going to school everyday, eating three meals a day.....everyday, showering everyday, doing her homework everyday............etc.
In Wright County 98.7% of the time, the mother gets custody of the children. Out of the 1.3% of the time the father gets custody, 90% of that is because the mother voluntarily gave custody to the dad voluntarily! I cant see the Courts giving my daughter back, after taking her away. Her mother failed to comply with court orders about .........Psychiatric treatment..........inpatient chemical dependency treatment and a 52 week anger management. I am going to request that she completes all of that before she can have visitation.
Thanks for your support everyone! I will keep you updated.

That's really wonderful, sysadmin. I'm so glad to hear that you finally got your daughter away from that monster of a mother. Now - go after *her* for child support. :D
