you check your posting stats on this board just to make sure your last post got counted correctly and you check your daily average with a calculator...

your turn

You run a CAT5 cable into the bathroom just in case you want to check your stats while on the crapper.

the cops raid your house because your taking power away from the donut shop down the street.

You stay an extra half hour after work on Fridays just to make sure all your cows are grazing for the weekend.

You train yourself to ignore a Delta fan in your bedroom so that you can keep producing that extra amount from your overclocked PC...

...you resist plugging in an air-conditioner for fear that it might flip a breaker causing you to lose production from the 15 cows crunching blocks in your house! :Q 😉

The cops show up, ask why you are using so much power, and they think you are growing some funky green stuff when all you are doing is tring to power those crack racks.

Athlex, actually I have grown accustomed to sleeping with ear plugs in.
I can almost not hear the 7500 rpm delta that way, it is 20 feet from my bed.
When I have to power up the 120mm fan for extra cooling during the hot days there is always the big 20 inch box fan sitting in the window that makes so much noise I can almost not hear the computer at all.
With 4 machines crunching seti in my bedroom I am slightly amazed my wife puts up with it! The earplugs help me but I don't know what she thinks about the noise, she doesn't seem to mind?

I've thought of encasing a 486 board in some kind of plastic goo and freezing it and overclocking it to like 300 mhz to crack RC5 on. I have a little space in the freezer you know...

- you consider to build a processor, only capable of doing RC5

- you can exactly tell people what keyspaces your computer(s) has done for the last weeks

- you go out to meet people to join your (sub)team

- you sue the power supplier when there is a power shortage and you only want their idle time.

...when you go to price a remodel job at someone's residence and are more interested in their hardware and if they have heard of RC5 than the project they called you to look at
