when you are super excited about picking up a brand new chest freezer after work today. My very first and I couldn't be happier. I have 12 boxes of Thin Mints ready to break that baby in with. And then it's off to Costco to enjoy the wonderful world of buying bulk meat. 🙂

that would be exciting to me too... just at the fact that i could buy a lot of food for it!
PS... keep a running talley on what food is in there and what the price was... if anything should happen and your power ever goes out, you can claim food spoilage on your home owners insurance!

Congrats on the freezer!

Yeah, same here but I always buy 10-12 boxes and stretch them out until the next cookie season. A couple weeks ago, I ate my last box from the 2006 sale. But without a deep freezer, they tend to take up a lot of room, even when removed from the boxes. I'm mostly excited about buying meat in bulk. I waste a ton of money buying small packs of meat from grocery stores when I could be stocking up at warehouse clubs or when there are great sales elsewhere. I'm getting a 7.0 cu. ft. one and I think it holds around 200lbs. of food. Far cry from my little above-fridge freezer.

yes... to a certain limit, and of course your deductible applies, but it is covered. I have found this specifically helps people with 2nd freezers. 🙂
