You know you're addicted to distributed computing when...

when youd rather not post in a "You know you're addicted to distributed computing when..." thread because your wasting time instead of asslaminating

You spend a great deal of time and money on a DC project that has little or no significant real world value to anyone other than you, your team, and other DC addicts. 🙂

My name is Rob and I'm an addict.

When a SETI WU takes 10 minutes longer than it should and you panic. 🙂

when your friends all think you're completely nuts when one of your primary concerns when buying new hardware is: is it going to increase my output?

You folks have a problem. Seek help. You won't find me hanging around in a Forum like this.

Also, my games are going fast enough and the only real reason I am upgrading my Celeron 500 to a Duron 800 is to raise my keyrate. That is pathetic. 🙁

You sell off older equipment so you can by new Pentium III Coppermines.

You debate between getting a 815E or a dual BX board.

You actually look for Russ' old thread where he posted the link to Oversock.com for the best price on a Tyan S1832DL dual BX board.

You go out and buy extra Uninteruptable Power Supplies for all your machines in case of a power outage.

You quit playing UT, Q3A, Daikatana, Rune, etc...to gain keyrate.

You experiment with different operating systems until you find the fastest one. (Klinux)

Hey, I can quit anytime. Yeah, right. I'll quit when they pull my crackrack from my cold, dead fingers.🙂

Russ, NCNE

...you rent office space for your crackrack because you don't have space for them at home in the apartment and Shurgard storage objects to your 100' extension cord running from one of two outlets in the whole building to your storage unit when you're not there!
