Maybe I'm just lucky (I'm certainly blessed to have what I have) but at 44 years old, I feel like I'm living in the best time of my life.

Happiness depends entirely on attitude and perspective. I really enjoy my balance of money and responsibility right now and wouldn't want to go back to college. Others feel empty without the predefined social structure. Part of maturing is realizing who you want to spend your time with and why.

If your body is breaking down highland start doing a martial art! Seriously. I started doing Tai Chi a few years ago to help with chronic pain and its crazy good. its the fountain of youth no joke.

Dont go to a senior citizen center and to that kind of tai chi.

If you havent seen ip man do it now!
35+ years lifting/3 knee surgeries have taken their toll. My massage person keeps pushing yoga. I do need to branch out.

My bro and nephew are/were taking wing chun. The nephew quit after a few months because he felt like the class was the instructor's punching bag and not students.

Nothing is more amusing than people several decades younger than you complaining about being old.

I'm over sixty but still consider myself on the upward curve of life, at least intellectually. There is still plenty of new experiences left ahead of me.

BTW-using the WWII measure-for me more time had passed by the time I finished elementary school.
All a matter of perspective.:p
I remember when I thought 25 was old. 60 is looking pretty good right now.

ya man I hear ya on the knees. I grew up with Osgood Shlatters and its made my knees a problem forever. Yoga and tai chi are very similar when it comes to body movement and whats good for you. Try some yoga man. Remember my thread about yoga pants? :)

Sad your nephew didnt like it. Since win chun is so popular because of the movies a ton of mcdojos popped up. Tell him to find a place that was teaching it 10 + years ago. You will likely find someone who isnt bandwagoning.

I remember when it was called Ving Tsun.

Actually, I am pretty happy. Things could be better but they sure could be worse.

I started feeling really old when I found myself agreeing with the adults in kids/teen movies.

like, you know -- that dad is totally right. 16 is way too young to run away and get married just because they're ~~~in love~~~. the chances of these punk kids' relationship even surviving freshman year of college is nil.

Ehh, Im 35, the best days are ahead.

Sure, there was some fun and excitement in college, but, being poor sucked. Now I have a car that can go 1000 miles without falling apart, I can afford to go on a cruise or go some place interesting for a week every year, I have a house and can play my music as loud as I want.. life is great, it will be better whenever I can afford to retire and I can travel more!

OMG, I just realized that the statement above also applies to me:

Time between end of WWII to birth of ICF: 25 years
Time between end of ICF's high school career to today: 26 years

D:

Yeah, movies rely too much on CGI now and not enough on models. Models still look better IMO and should be used whenever possible.

Watch Total Recall from the perspective of knowing that it is all practical effects. Amazing.

Oh, some of the music on classic rock stations. Hilarious! I think Metallica is now "classic rock".

Well, I first heard Metallica when I was a freshman in college which was 1985. So yeah, 30 years ago *DOES* kinda fit the "classic" definition...

My father used to take me to the neighborhood barber for a "boys haircut" every six weeks or so. I'd always ask him for a penny to buy a gumball.

One week he gave me a penny and nothing came out of the machine because the prices had gone up to two cents per. My young mind was blown at the sheer price gouging.

I can almost here Archie and Edith singing "...those were the days!"
