you know you are doing something wrong on facebook...

if you have 700 friends, but only 10 people wish you a happy birthday. That is 1.4%.
The sad thing is, she's so active on there too with status updates and photo albums. Her profile just screams insecurity.

I know facebook is gay and I'm not popular or anything but quality > quantity

I dunno what's more sad - The friend with the 1.4% birthday greetings or the person observing it and posting it on a forum full of people who don't care.

lol, I use my birthday as a friend deleting tool. If someone is my "friend" but only interacts with me on my birthday to say "happy birthday" they get the axe.

Or the guy who comments about the guy who posts...

😀

I usually use the invites for applications as my deleting tool.

"Jen used the OMG LOLS facebook app and mentioned you in it. She thinks you might be interested in using it too. Click here to let our crappy little company data-mine your facebook profile so we know where to send our minions."

Goodbye Jen.

Meh, I just ignore applications as a whole.

ATOT is pretty much the only place that wishes me a happy birthday. It helped my mood a ton last year. =0)

That seems really odd. Most people w/ 700 friends usually get a ton of happy bdays just because people do it as a gesture that takes little effort. She must be someone that barely knows those 700 people and none of them like her

It's just because we all want personal verification that you've lived this long. Sure the Bible has stories about Methuselah but it's all the better be able to ask him directly.

a lot of people don't do the "Happy Birthday" wall post. i usually do it... even to friends i don't actively hang out with...

usually when you see that it's their birthday, and you post your birthday greeting or whatever... you think about that person for a few moments and maybe remember the good times you had or why they are your friend. so it might appear to be cheesy but to me it means that person had me in their thoughts that day and i appreciate it.

personally i don't have my birthday listed on facebook. try that and see how many birthday wishes you get 😉

but i'm not gonna hold it against anyone if they don't remember / care that it's my birthday. when you get a bit older, it's really just a regular day and another number. it's also not wise to judge people by their "online" actions. social status aside, most of us are tech geeks, so i think we have our fingers on the pulse of online activity moreso than our "regular" friends 😛
