Nothing like a company seeing nothing but the bottom line. Instead of adding a new line of candy and keeping jobs in the US they see nothing but how much more profit they can make. I'm surpised they didn't move production to some country where they could use near slave labor paying some kids $3 a week.

How true. Everyone knows a company is better when the report a loss every single year and go out of business.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Gillette and other US companies have shutdown their Canadian operations and moved them to the US a few years ago.

Yeah, they could have at least moved it to Mexico where it would do the people some good even though they were only getting paid a dollar a day.

That $9 million saving is most definitely less than they piss away on advertising or the yearly bonus of the ceo and top executives. I can't believe they moving for a $9 million a year saving. For a company the size of Kraft, that is pennies.

Vad: Though Kraft is huge, they're are likely trying to make each product (more)profitable. Thus why they have consolidated production of this single product.

Short run = Bad
Long run = Good. People switch to producing investment goods (as opposed to consumer goods like candy) => Capital:Labor ratio increases => producitivity/standard of living increase
