So, I was in a car wreck ... no fault of my own - other driver ran a stop sign

I call up my GF and I simply say "Hey, I was in a wreck and the car's totaled"

and she says "oh my god, how could u do that - we're so screwed now" (the car belongs to me in full, I pick her up & drop her off at work)

... without bothering to find out whether I'm ok and not even asking whether it was my fault or not.

Every other person whom I called up, their first reaction was to ask if I was ok or not.

I broke up with her in the next 6 hours

(This isn't recent, but worth posting - I think)

Sounds like you did the right thing.

Obviously the relationship wasn't worth a sh!t in the first place anyway if such a trivial thing would cause you to break up with her instead of talking about it.

well if she said something like that, they were probably dating for a relatively short amount of time.

... Most relationships end because of trivial things

This is very true.. But my point was that if the relationship wasn't important enough to both of them to just simply talk about the issue, then it wasn't going to go anywhere anyway.

I'd argue that this was definitely NOT a trivial thing.

Not very trivial though. You can tell a lot by how a person reacts under stress or certain situations.

Obviously, she is so self-centered that she blatantly ignores OP's condition but is more concerned about how she will get to work. And this isn't just a punctured tire, it's a car wreck that could have killed someone.

Yes I see what you mean...Lack of communication also leads to lots of problems that could easily be solved... Meh, still I have to give merit to the OP because from experience, all girls I dated tend to be incapable of discussing issues for some reason, they tend to like the "easy way out" instead of talking through things

One time my gf pissed me off in my car so I stopped in the middle of the road, told her to gtfo, and made her walk home 10 blocks with 2 4 liter orange juice jugs, haha.
