Both Gore and Bush are regular politicians. Where the FUSK is John McCain and Collin Powell? Where is John Kerry and Russ Feingold?

Imagine those tickets.

Imagine getting rid of the marriage tax penalty. Clinton vetoed it. Imagine privatizing Social Security. Clinton/Gore don't want it. Imagine getting rid of late-term (brain sucking) abortions. Clinton vetoed it twice. Imagine using vouchers for school of your choice. Union Teachers don't want it. Gore doesn;t want it. Poor Democrats want it. Bush wants it...

You know, he will be available after January :) Your chances of having him for the next 4 years will increase if you are a willing female type though. Or at least female.

Buchanan could be elected and this country would be fine. Our economic power is enormous, actually, almost unbelievable. The Presidency is important, but it pales in comparison to our many strengths. And, at least we can fight amongst ourselves and still keep the dream alive.

i beleive they got everything under control. it's much more than the president who makes decisions in this country. politics are stupid anyway, way too many ppl care way too much, just because they pay taxes and don't feel like they should, get mad because the government won't give them free stuff, and don't think of what the government has done for us already, and just because stuff isn't going the way you'd want it to, you think the government is going to hell in a handbasket. get a life, and start worrying about stuff that really matters, like your family and whether or not you can feed yourself. our government will never take away the right for us to be 'free' to do what we want, and by this i mean live your life in a sensible manner. the government makes things safe, and just because you don't agree, you blame it on taxes and other stupid sh|t. sure, there are bullsh|t stuff that goes on, but none of it concerns the average joe like me, so let it be.

EDIT: Would you rather live in russia or china????

Many people including you say time and time again that the last eight years have been propserous, and somehow you link the Clinton administration to that prosperity. Can you point me to exactly what the Clinton administration did that had any impact on the economy?

I'm guessing you can't.

<< Where the FUSK is John McCain and Collin Powell? >>

McCain was prevented from succeeding by the very same party he belongs to (had to be though to swallow that one). To his credit, he didn't switch to another party and destroy it like Buchanan did to the reform party.

As for Powell, I think he'd make an excellent president. His reasons for not running are "personal", so I?ve read. Basically that means he's not willing to give up his liberty to ascend that extremely restrictive throne of office. Presidents really have no life. Born-and-bred politicians like shrub and bore have never known any other life. Status quo for them. But for Powell and Ventura, basically normal people who love personal freedom, the presidency would be like a dark closet is to a claustrophobic.

<< That's why we'll never see the Best of the Best running for President. >>

That plus the money. Jimmy Carter said if he ran in today's political environment he would never have made it through the campaign. This was only 20 years ago, folks. It simply takes too much money now to run for president. So, we're now limited to wealthy individuals like Albert and Shrub, with strong/wealthy/influential parties to back them.

Soft money is also preventing good candidates from running and harming politics. Soft money is money given to a political party, not a candidate. Political parties can't use this money to rant and rave about their guy but for some incredibly lame reason they can use it to throw mud at their political enemies. And this is being done. It just fuels negative campaigning. Perhaps this is what the democrats and republicans truly want: negativism. Create so much apathy that they can easily predetermine the outcome of federal elections.

I'm thinking folks like Venture are correct in that campaigns should be entirely funded by taxpayer money. This is a tad socialist but it would level the playing field.

<< Sure, they were in charge of the country during that time. What else do you want to know Boober? >>

You're looking weak Red. You didn't present any information and ended in an all to simple play on my name. Surely you can do better than that.

I'm looking for something real. What policies were put in place, what bills were signed into law, what executive decisions were made that had an impact on the economy?

Sorry, you're not getting of that easy. I've been listening to this bullcrap about how the economy is great because of King Klinton, and I have yet to see a shred of evidence that shows this administration had anything to do with it.

Oh yeah, except for Gore creating the internet, but he was a senator then.

I agree, but I think Gore could do good things. I've yet to see a good reason why Bush should become our president.. We might as well re-elect Bush Sr. ...

Ornery- Our country has been going downhill for the last 100 years. Sure, we've gotten more wealthy.. but I'm talking about moral and social standards.. Our air, our water.. Our environment.. Our food.. You know, the things that really matter..

Gore is basically Clinton Jr., so what's the difference there?

Bober- yes, but I don't see anything wrong with the Clinton/Gore thing..

All in all, I don't really give a rat's ass who wins the elections.. I mean I care.. but not because of the things you might think.. They're both full of crap as far as I'm concerned, their only real interest is getting elected.. They'll tell us anything..

I have to admit, I had my mind made up, 100% Gore, before I watched the debates.. But now I don't know, they both seem kinda full of it..

<< But JB, if they cound't sling mud at their opponents that would only leave them with the option discussing the qualifications and virtues of their own Candidates >>

One thing that bugs the sh!t out of me is that negative ads work. Otherwise repulicrats wouldn't bother with them. People, in general, are more moved to hear the wrong in others rather than the good. The ratings-driven media of course loves it and continues to fill this evil demand by printing story after story making politicans look bad. And don't get me wrong, the crooks (politicans) definitely give the media a lot of dung to print.

Eli,

Call me a right-wing, money-lovin' bastard but I liked King Bush the First and, in fact, voted for him, though that was my last vote for a major party candidate.

The Democratic Party is like the Mafia...in that, the bigger the crook, the higher they place you.

Stop the insanity...vote George W. Bush.
