You know how some people send Junk Mails back to the company?

At anyrate, I do practice that just because I enjoy licking...... envelopes.

Today I noticed that on the envelopes for Capital One, they have this bar code on the back that says "customer locator".

What's up with that? so they can tell who's sending their junk mail back filled with junk?

It's probably a scare tactic, since they use the same freaking code for everyone it seems.

Why would it scare you? Don't you want to be sure they get your name off their junk mail list?

i'm not scared, i'm saying it is a scare tactic because they put "tempering with this business envelope can result in fines and prosecution" line under the customer locater bar code.

That would scare me...into finding out just how far the law allows me to go, so that I could go just exactly that far.

They can't do squat about it (and I love doing that too, by the way). They gave you a pre-paid envelope to send back to them. They can't force you to use it for a credit application.

I like putting fistfuls of shredded paper into the applications I get. Our paper shredder shreds paper down to the atomic level, so when those fsckers open it up they practically get a face full of microscopic debris.

Oh, and yes, Capital One is evil. There was one day when I got 2 offers from them and my wife got 3. That's our record so far.
