please tell me my sarcasm meter is broken and that Deeko is not actually that ignorant.
Listen hippy - its the opposite that needs to be justified. You hippies with your long hair and your lack of a job want to charge us hard working Americans an extra fee for using a plastic bag. It quite literally is an "eco tax". The plastic bag does not cost that much.
Just because I have better things to do than hug trees all day does not mean I'm "ignorant". The impact of plastic shopping bags on the environment is negligible. Keep it in Whole Foods and leave the rest of us alone.
I'm sorry that you're a hard working American who hates to pay for 5c for a plastic bag. The problem is that your being hard working man doesn't automatically give you a right to pollute. And no, I'm not saying we shouldn't pollute at all and live peacefully with nature. What I'm saying is that if there's smart way to reduce pollution, I'm for it. I find this +5c per plastic bag attempt is a good try that will work.
No, I'm not a tree hugger and I'm not a hippie (I don't know why someone shows his interst in saving/preserving nature, he's considered to be a tree hugger/hippie. I guess it's because some people are just ignorant.) In fact, if you've ever taken Econ 101 level courses, you must be familiar with the term "incentive." That's one of the important forces that drive economics. I could go on and explain this but whenever I talk to someone who chose to be ignorant and be all upset like a teenager going through puberty, I can't help but to wonder if I'm reading Shakespeare to a cow.
Please calm down so that we'd take you seriously. In other words, be a cowboy, at least, rather than a cow.
You children are way too easy. And like someone named 'Deadtrees' arguing about the environment isn't a hippy.
I'm aware of what an incentive is - and that incentive is causing me to boycott any business that implements it. I guess that incentive backfired, eh? Well...in your hippy eyes, gazing out through the smoke from the drugs you inevitably are smoking, it probably was a win, as at Costco I'm not using any bags - but you are costing the business of those poor retailers at which I will not shop!
I'm glad you value a negligible impact on the environment over America's dying main street, while corporate goliaths like Costco take over the world. Isn't that anti-hippy too? God I hate hippies.
