What's the best bang for your time tourist thing to do in Edinburgh? I'm hoping to have an entire day (should arrive by 9AM and would depart at around 5 or 6 PM).

Any advice would be appreciated. It just looks like there is so much to see and I know I can't see it all in a day...

Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, Royal Mile. That's what we did for our day in Edinburgh.

we skipped Holyrood and spent more time in the castle. The bus tour worked well to get us around town and up to the castle.

seems like there's lots of festivals that go one there, you can see if there is a coinciding one with your date of arrival.
