You guys wanna see some bank fraud?

One of my accounts with CIBC is a cheqing account.

You get charged $3.90 per month to have the account regardless if you use it or not. You get 10 transactions per month and each transaction after costs you $.60.

I made 13 transactions last month.

$3.90 + (3 x $.60) = $5.70

I was charged a service fee of $5.75

Now .05 is not a lot of money anyone. Now think how many have an account at CIBC with a cheqing account... Maybe a million.

Assuming 1/2 of those never go over their 10 transactions. CIBC could never charge them more than $3.90.

Now you've got 500,000 people getting charged $.05, 12 times a year. That's $300,000 a year that CIBC has STOLEN from it's customers.

Just one more reason why CIBC is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. It's run by a bunch of criminals.

Are you retarded? Or do you just not understand grade 1 math?

grade 1 math? never heard it put like that before...usually we say "1st grade math".

If it says directly in your contract that they can only charge that certain amount, bring it to the news or sue them, or something. Tell them because of that five cents they've beentaking from you over time, you weren't able to provide for your family. ^^;

Banks are the biggest thieves in the world, or so an accountant has told me.

You either work for CIBC and you're getting defensive or are retarded and you like having your money stolen.

Comparing my pay stub, which has involuntary deductions, vs my bank statement which has deductions outlined to me before I signed up.... It appears the involuntary deductions from my paycheck come to far more then the voluntary deductions from my bank.

Seems to me the government is the biggest thief in the world.

What do expect??? There are service fees everywhere.

Unless there is a service fee for being charged a service fee. Maybe I should re-check the fine print again...

Wow - that's like Superman 3 or Officespace, where they take all the fractions of pennies and add them all up, and it turns out to be millions of dollars and they try to run off with it and they're not sure what to do and it's totally crazy and then they try to return it and all these other bad things happen and ... one time, in band camp...

😛

Theft (or more technically, larceny) requires intent to commit a crime. If CIBC intended to steal money from customers, this is theft. If it was an accident or if CIBC misinterpreted the agreement then it isn't theft. It could be breach of contract, but not theft.
